A New Year, a New Chapter — and a Seat at the Table

A New Year, a New Chapter — and a Seat at the Table

The beginning of a new year invites reflection. It’s a time to pause long enough to acknowledge a few important truths:

  • You made it.

  • The gifts you carry still matter.

  • This is the year to surround yourself with women who can help you access what’s already inside of you — and the external support needed to bring your desires to life.

January always brings me back to a defining season in my own story.

Five years ago, in January 2021, my rainbow baby and I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina to begin a brand-new chapter. I had recently divorced after a ten-year marriage, my daughter was just 15 months old, and everything about life felt tender, unknown, and full of possibility.

I didn’t know anyone in Charlotte. My family was ten hours away in Alabama. And while I’ve always considered myself strong, I found myself quietly asking what it would take to build a life — and a village — in a new place.

What I didn’t yet understand was that God’s grace was already ahead of me.

I stepped into a role that beautifully combined two of my deepest loves — mission work and ministry — and over time, I witnessed His grace carry me and that little girl who is now six years old. The number five signifies grace, and over these past five years, I’ve seen God’s hand on my life in ways I could never have planned.

Here are five things I know to be true now:

  • God’s plans are truly bigger than mine

  • Your village matters more than you think

  • Go ahead and take the spa day — rest is holy

  • Sometimes it is what it looks like

  • And if it’s not good, then He’s not done yet

It’s from this place — reflection, gratitude, and grace — that ForHer was born.

In 2026, ForHer will host a series of intentional gatherings created to be a bridge between where you are and what’s next. These gatherings are designed as spaces for women to pause, be seen, build meaningful relationships, and move forward with clarity and support.

We will be hosting three regional gatherings in Charlotte, Greensboro, and Raleigh, along with one in-person signature gathering bringing women together from across regions for deeper healing, alignment, and intentional next steps.

As you move into this year, I invite you to sit with this question:

What resources, relationships, or support do you need to move forward in this next season?

If you feel led, I’d love for you to share what comes up for you. And if you’ve felt the nudge to gather differently this year — to be in rooms that nourish you, stretch you, and remind you who you are — this is your invitation.

You deserve to be in the room.
We would love for you to join us.
