Sometimes Your Next Step Is a Conversation

One of the things I value most is being a lifelong learner.

Give me a good book, an inspiring podcast, or a leadership course, and I'm all in. Those resources have challenged my thinking, strengthened my leadership, and helped shape the woman I am today.

I'm grateful for every one of those experiences.

But as I look back over my life, I've noticed something.

The moments that changed me the most didn't always come from what I learned.

More often than not, they came from the people I met.

A mentor who saw potential in me before I could see it myself.

A friend who reminded me of God's faithfulness during a difficult season.

A colleague who introduced me to someone who would change the trajectory of my career.

A leader who took the time to ask one question that shifted the way I thought about my future.

Knowledge has helped me grow.

But relationships have often helped me move.

Sometimes we're doing all the right things.

We're reading.

Learning.

Praying.

Preparing.

Working hard.

Yet we still feel stuck.

Not because we need more information, but because we may be missing the people who can encourage us, challenge us, offer wisdom, or simply remind us that we don't have to walk alone.

I've come to believe that sometimes the next step in your journey isn't waiting in another book or podcast—it's waiting in a conversation with someone you haven't met yet.

That's one of the reasons I created ForHer.

My heart has never been to simply host events.

It's to create spaces where women feel seen, encouraged, and connected.

Spaces where honest stories replace polished perfection.

Where meaningful conversations replace surface-level networking.

Where women become bridges for one another—opening doors, sharing wisdom, offering encouragement, and reminding each other that becoming isn't something we're meant to do alone.

I don't know what season you're in today.

Maybe you're stepping into leadership.

Maybe you're rebuilding after disappointment.

Maybe you're asking God what's next.

Or maybe you're simply longing for a community of women who understand the beauty and complexity of becoming.

Whatever your season, my hope is that you'll keep investing in both your growth and your relationships.

Read the books.

Listen to the podcasts.

Take the course.

And don't underestimate the power of sitting across the table from someone whose story just might become part of your own.

Because sometimes, the next chapter of your life begins with a conversation.
